The legacy of the Music Inn, a 1950s haven for jazz and folk artists who gathered each summer to hone their skills and explore their musical roots via jam sessions and discussions. Randy Weston got his start in jazz at Music Inn and is in interviewed in the film along with Randy Weston, Dave Brubeck, Percy Heath, Gunther Schuller, Billy Taylor, Pete Seeger, Oscar Brand and many others. Rare footage includes never before seen clips of Geoffrey Holder, Randy Weston Trio, Al Minns and Leon James, Marshall Stearns, and Tom Glazer along with unreleased audio performances from the likes of Mahalia Jackson, Woody Guthrie, Olatunji and Ornette Coleman.
