By popular demand, the JHC's "Jazz on Film" Series continues in March, and in honor of Women's
History Month, we highlight films featuring great women of the jazz era.
All films are at 7:30pm in the Media and Education Center.

Screening Schedule:
Tues. March 2: "Lady Sings the
Blues" (1972 - 143 min) Diana Ross as Billie Holiday, with Billie Dee
Williams and Richard Pryor. Received 5 Academy Award nominations, including
Ross for best actress.
Thurs. March
4: Lena Horn double feature - "Stormy Weather"
(1943 - 78 min); and "Cabin in the Sky" (1943 - 98 min) at
9:00 pm
Tues. March 9:"Jazz Icons: Ella Fitzgerald
Live '57 & '63" Thurs. March 11: "Masters of American Music: Lady
Day: The Many Faces of Billie Holiday" (1990 59 min)
Tues. March 16:"Pete
Kelley's Blues" (1955 - 95 min) Peggy Lee was nominated for best
supporting actress. Also features a superb cameo by Ella Fitzgerald.
Thurs. March 18: "Jazz on a Summer's Day"
(1960 - 85 min) Concert film set at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival. Performers
include Anita O'Day, Dinah Washington and Mahalia Jackson, along with
Armstrong, Monk and many more.
Tues. March 23: No film due to Mardi Gras in the lobby (see
